The ministry efforts of Operación San Andrés (OSA) have focused on the residents of Collique, a impoverished community on the outskirts of Lima, Peru. Collique, with a population in excess of 100,000 residents, is in the 4th stage of the Comas District on the north side of Lima. Lima is located on the desert side of the Andes Mountains, and the annual rainfall is extremely low. The terrain is mountainous and living conditions are harsh. Most of Collique’s residents have migrated from other parts of Peru in an illusive search for better jobs and living conditions. Others came to escape terrorist activities in their previous home regions. The OSA House and Sports Complex are in the Las Lomas neighborhood in the 4th zone of Collique.
